Well … a giant thanks to everyone who came by my table at FanExpo this past weekend. Whether you bought a comic, or a pin, or just decided to chat with me a while it was a very humbling experience, to say the least. Honestly, I feel like maybe 4 days was too much for me so I don’t know if I am prepared to do it again next year for Fan Expo. That being said I am currently looking in to exhibiting at other conventions around Canada such as Calgary and Halifax so if you think I should come feel free to drop me a note :).
With that being said it is time to find out what is happening with Raymond and Howard in that elevator so I will get back to doing what I love doing and draw some comics!
I am wondering if it would be cool if, this week at Fan Expo, for every person that buys a shirt, we take a picture together. I’ll take that picture and redraw that person as a zombie and post it on my Tumblr account as part of my Sketch-A-Day project. What do you think? Worth doing?
Facebook is being funny about adding photos again. I am not having much love with Facebook these days. Makes me think that perhaps Tumblr IS the right direction for me.
I’ll be honest, I am not as far in to Issue 2 as I wanted to be, but after FanExpo I really want to pump out the pages so I can present issue #3. I have been drawing like crazy out here and the challenge to do it in a very particular manner (which will be revealed when the pages are released [no spoilers]) has been incredibly inspiring for me.
What is also exciting for me is that Issue #3 will be, for the most part, drawn out completely in analog mode, that is to say, by hand. Who knows? Maybe I’ll have a contest to give out some of the original pages or something. Doing Stranger has always been about trying to get better than I am and thanks to all of your feedback, I feel that is happening.
Thanks for sticking with me so far, and I hope we are together for a nice looooong run.
Hi! I’ll be pushing my comic “Stranger” which you can find over at http://www.iheartunicornstoo.com and I’ll have the comic, some tshirts and posters. Come by and say hi!
